About Me
I am a trans woman, and a relational psychodynamic therapist based in London, originally from Yorkshire. My work is influenced by previous training as a facilitator and movement practitioner.
I work with people from all walks of life, but have specific personal and professional experience with issues related to queer and trans identities, body-image, non-normative relationships, neurodivergence, disability, sex work, community building, and activism. At my core, I am committed to seeing the uniqueness and complexity of your experience and worldview; through and beyond how you understand your identity.
I believe that therapy should be available to all, and am aware of the harm that can be caused by therapists who minimise or marginalise the experiences of those who face systemic racism, queerphobia, ableism or classism. I am committed to ethical and politically-minded ways of working, and in particular am attuned to the ways that suffering is shaped not only by past experiences of trauma, but by the very real limitations and structural violences we face today.
It is in light of these difficult conditions that I draw on my experience working in the arts. To me, creative exploration is a fundamental part of being human that imbues life with meaning and creates powerful paths for self-knowledge. As such, I endeavour to work fluidly and creatively, in ways that create space for multiple truths and possibilities.
Training: I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths University, London.
Previous work: As part of my training, I completed a placement with a charity who specialise in therapy for queer and gender diverse people.
Accreditation: I am an Accredited Registrant of NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society), and work in accordance with their ethical framework.
